Y-Combinator has been scaling down the number of startups that it accepts into its program over the last three years due to the downward spiral of the global economy.
In 2022 they took only 60% of the number of startups that they would normally accept. In the last batch only Three startups from Africa were accepted; Cleva and Miden, Fintech startups from Nigeria and Triply, a Kenyan travel-tech startup.
Triply was founded by Peter Wachira and Collins Muthinja in 2021 as an all-inclusive OS for businesses in the travel industry in Africa. Triply brings together payroll, payments, Invoicing, accounting, operations, and more into one singular platform that makes operations and sales for travel businesses much more efficient. Triply was formerly known as Tripitaca.
