Cold emails are hard. It’s like talking to someone you have never met before for the first time at a party where you don’t know anybody and worse off, you are trying to sell them something.
On the brighter side, cold emails are easier than the scenario above because you’re not talking to the person face to face.
Cold emails can convert really well if you go the extra mile to personalize the email to the receiver.
1. Go to hunter.io and get the email of the executive you are targeting. You can get most emails from any company that has a website or some presence online on hunter.io
2. Do some research on the company and the person you want to email (LinkedIn, Twitter or Facebook).
3. The subject of your email should be something that the exec will want to click on, I found that using “Quick query on [insert company name]” worked really well. Remember they receive many emails per day so be creative.
4. Keep the email short and straight to the point. On the first cold email, you don’t have to sell them your product, make it about them or their company, what they need, the problem you have identified in their pipeline. What you are selling should be AOB or the closing arguments
5. If you can make it fun, but mostly hit the nail on the head fast.
