Best No-Code Webapp Builders for beginners and anyone else.
Softr really is one of the easiest tools online to use to build webapps of most kinds.
I used it to build this free resource where people download illustrations for free in a week.
They also have great tutorials and support from a great community that is also ready to help.
If you are just starting out or want to build something quick, then Softr is the tool for you.
Best part is the database is Airtable or Google Sheets which is pretty similar to an excel that everyone has used before.
Softr also offers free tools like a YouTube thumbnail downloader, SVG maker, Vimeo thumbnail downloader and more.
To create the front-end, the tool is also very intuitive and easy to use, you go live in 2 days if you have your data ready on Airtable.
WeWeb is quite similar to Softr in that it allows you to build a webapp with a front-end on top of your database.
But more than just Airtable and Google Sheets, WeWeb allows you to connect to a host of other data source integrations such as Rest API, GraphQL, Xano, Supabase, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SmartSuite, RSS Feed and SOAP.
WeWeb is also more expensive than Softr and has a steeper learning curve.
Glide allows you to connect to an external database such as Airtable, SQL etc. but it also has its own in-built database. You can build fully on Glide, both front-end and back-end.
Glide is also pretty easy to use and has lots of templates that can help get you started.
If you want to validate an idea fast, Glide is good tool to go with
Carrd helps you build landing pages fast.
This tool is good if you don’t want to spend too much time on building to validate a simple idea. If all you need is to collect emails while presenting what you do, then Carrd will do the trick.
You can also add other type of forms, payment collection and more.
You can build a portfolio, landing page for your product, simple profile to mention a few.
Webflow is pretty powerful but has the steepest learning curve of all the no-code tools that I have tried before.
I had to get a paid course for this one. But if you have done design on Figma, AdobeXD or any other design tool then it will be easier. If you have some form of knowledge as to how a website is generally structured (Ui/Ux) or HTML/CSS knowledge you will find the tool very easy to use.
You can build a platform like YouTube on Webflow if you wanted to or a simple e-commerce website for your business.
Webflow also offers hundreds of templates to choose from, a multitude of resources to help with the learning curve and you can also hire an expert if it gets too tough.
If you are starting out with Bubble, I recommend you start with this tutorial, it will get you from A to Z in the gentlest way ever.
Bubble is one of the most powerful no-code tools out there. You can build literally anything on Bubble from a platform like WhatsApp to your simple indie hacker tool that you are just trying out.
It has a learning curve but once you get the hang of it, you are good to go.
Using Bubble is a lot like writing code, it requires you to think logically, you will also run into bugs while building just like a dev would so brace yourself for a little head scratching.
But all in all, this is the tool that will make a you a dev without the code.
Framer is good for building content based websites like portfolios, a website to showcase a business etc.
You can make very nice looking and dynamic websites with Framer.
It’s like a very nice looking WordPress alternative.
Well, this doesn’t need too much of an introduction.
If you are looking to build a professional looking website that doesn’t have too much to it then WordPress is your answer.
The Content Management System is very easy to use and there are hundreds of tutorials and templates both free and paid online to choose from depending on the kind of website that you want to build.
Elementor is used to build professional websites and webapps on top of WordPress.
If you are looking to build something a bit more complex but still on WordPress, then Elementor will do just that.
It’s a drag and drop kind of experience and very easy to learn with a host of tutorials on YouTube.
Elementor also has other plugins that make it even more powerful.
FlutterFlow is great for building user interfaces for Mobile apps and simple mobile apps with no-code.
You can also export the mobile to a webapp.
If you need the app to do more complex functionalities, you will need to do some coding, this is the only major caveat.
It also has a steep learning curve.
Bettermode is in the same category as Webflow.
You can use it to build simple platforms, directories from different data sources, a community social network etc.
It is fairly easy to learn and comes with a nice looking intuitive dashboard that you use to build your tools and products.
You can create tools where members sign up, log in, get notifications, post content and do much more. It’s up to the idea that you have.
